My Dearest Sweet Abbie,
Tears are already welling up in my eyes as I write this letter to you. Tomorrow is your birthday. Your 3rd birthday. The first year of preschool, the first year of letting you go off on an adventure by yourself. A huge year for you. A huge year for me too. As daddy and I lay you down to bed tonight, we were talking about tomorrow being your birthday, and you grabbed both of us and pulled us in for a kiss. You said "you'll always take care of me, right?" "you'll always love me right?" And of course we covered you in kisses and told you "more than anything". You truly amaze both of us. You are such a SMART little girl. Always inquisitive. Beautiful. So sweet and caring. Such a great big sister. Always looking out for everyone else. Fun. You're everything and more that I ever dreamt of when I would dream about my own child.
I can't help but sit here and remember back 3 years ago tonight, so nervous to go to the hospital in the morning to be induced, so excited to finally meet you. After a long day, at 5:16pm when Dr. Ng put you in my arms, tears coming down my face and daddy hugging on both of us, my life felt so much more complete because you were there. I never knew you could fall in love so quickly, so completely. You amazed me then, and 3 years later, you still amaze me! I love you my sweet Abigail. Happy Happy Birthday!
